I have a small office with 6 PCs and one PC that acts as a server, total of 7. It is the time to upgrade the entire network, including the phone system, and I would like to make sure that certain things I would like have are possible before I set out to upgrade the system. My expectations are as follows:

1) Pick a new CRM: My database is aprox. 1500 clients. I would like to have built in Email feature since a lot of information relative to clients move through email and moving it from outlook to the CRM would be redundant. KEY feature I need is the ability to easily create a flow of tasks (If I schedule a meeting with a client 3 months out, it would automatically generate pre-set, administrative tasks to be completed before the meeting. When the meeting is completed and I mark it so, it would generate tasks to be completed further in the process.) Ease of maintenance and reliability of the CRM is of course of great importance.

2)Switch phone system to VOIP, most likely from Verizon since it’s my cellphone’s provider and I think getting Verizon Enterprise is inevitable in this situation.

3) Integrate CRM and Phone system. By integrate I mean if a client calls I would like to see a pop up with the appropriate information and if I pull up client’s name on the screen I could make a phone call by clicking an icon/name/whatever. I would also love to have a feature where CRM would log the call by itself and I would only have to enter notes about what was said during the call. This might be pushing it but I would love to have the ability to log my cellphone (blackberry) calls wirelessly, because I take a lot of calls while I am on the road and I simply forget whom I have spoken to.

4)Get a decent server. Certain tasks tend to take a little longer than it is expected and I would love to eliminate these glitches. In addition, I assume that with the setup called for by all the features mentioned above it will be inevitable to get a server.
